The Library That Lends Out Drills, Tents, and People Who Know How to Put Up Shelves
Forget books. A new 'Library of Things' in South London is tackling waste and building community by letting people borrow everything from a power drill to a party-sized gazebo.
The most popular item? "Probably Steve," says organizer Chloe. Steve is a retired engineer who volunteers two hours a week. "You can't borrow *him* exactly, but you can book a 20-minute slot for him to tell you why your shelf is wonky."
The project has saved residents thousands of pounds and prevented countless barely-used items from ending up in landfill. It’s a simple, brilliant idea that’s spreading across the country.
